Dubrovnik Riviera is a picturesque mountain coast with dense pine forests, olive trees, grapevines and Mediterranean vegetation. This region is famous for energetic dance of 'lindza' and its 100-years tradition. Beauty of varied landscapes from sandy beaches to rocky cliffs, valleys, bays and hills with abundant flora and fauna is a real attraction of that region. Many small villages, towns and resorts can be visited in Dubrovnik Riviera.
For instance, the old settlement of Mlini is one of the most wonderful villages on Zupa Dubrovacka. It is located along sandy beaches and shallow waters. The humid and warm climate allowed varied vegetation to grow. Mlini is situated 10 km from Dubrovnik and it is hidden in a unspoilt bay. Although Mlini is still relatively quiet place, tourism is developing. What attracts tourist the most, that is a unique virgin nature with crystal clear waters, abundant flora, many beaches and historic places. Exploring Mlini, tourists can come across St. Ilar church, St. Rok church and St. Duh church. There is also very old graveyards which remembers times of the Roman Astarei.
The other attractive place on Dubrovnik Riviera is Slano. This picturesque village is situated in a scenic bay which is over 2 km long. There are a beautiful beach and densely overgrown areas dotted with monuments and historic buildings. Tourists can admire the 15th – century Franciscan church of St. Jeromin, the well-preserved Rektor's palace and a manor house of Ohmucevic family. The areas surrounding Slano are covered with olive groves, vineyards, gardens. On hills, there are located Greek and Roman ruins. Slano is also accessibly by yachts.
Molunat is really romantic village with sandy beaches and steep cliffs. It is a former defence fortification of Dubrovnik Republic and only one preserved Konavle village. It is a small tourist and fishing settlement. It is remote from city crowds so it is perfect for family holidays. Molunat is also the good choice for those people who like various activities. Molunat offers e.g. diving, fishing, sailing or surfing as well as mountain biking.
