Pula
Pula is the largest city on Istria Peninsula, situated on its southern tip. Pula is well-known for its magnificent monuments from Roman era, when it was a colony known as Pietas Julia. It became an episcopal seat in 425 and still has the foundations of some 5th-century religious buildings. It is the city with rich history with many remains from ancient Roman times. Picturesque Old Town is filled with short and narrow streets. Most important tourist attraction in Pula is the Roman Amphitheater – one of the best preserved in the world.
