Mostar Tour

Mostar is the regional capital of the Herzegovina region of this alluring country situated in the heart of the Western Balkans. It is hard to sum up the uniqueness of this multi-faceted city - East and West meet on its gleaming, turquoise river in a blend of oriental architecture, Mediterranean air and Balkan beauty.

Of course, the main attraction is its world-famous bridge, although visitors soon find themselves immersed in other sights around its Ottoman Old Town such as the Old Bazaar, the Turkish House and one of the many fascinating mosques which have stood in this city for hundreds of years.

The day begins with a pleasant drive along the coastal road. Enjoy the beautiful views to the Elaphite islands and the peninsula Peljesac.
We will drive along the Delta of the river Neretva and further on to the inland of Herzegovina.
The Canton Herzegovina-Neretva is one of ten cantons of the federation Bosnia and Herzegovina. The name comes from the river Neretva and the region Herzegovina.
This region is famous by its amazing beautiful land with blind bend natural landscape, culture and tradition.
Before we arrive to Mostar, we will make a stop at the place called Pocitelj, a small very interesting village.
The Croatian begin to build this village in the 15th century, but it was ended by the Ottomans over 100 years later.
The largest town as well as the region administration is Mostar. During this excursion, You will have about 4 hours time, to explore this specific town.
The Symbol of the town and the whole country is the Old Bridge that connects the two coasts of the river Neretva. When the Stari most, or Old Bridge, collapsed from tank shelling in 1993, it was like the heart was ripped out of most Mostar natives. Even mentioning the bridge for years after it fell to the bottom of the Neretva River, could invoke tears.
Now, more than a decade later, the beautiful stone structure that had spanned the Neretva River for over four centuries once again arches across its raging waters.
The bridge is Mostars core and its reconstruction means that life is slowly but surely returning to normal in what is most certainly the most beautiful city in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
